Administrative Burden

CUT THE
RED TAPE.

Healthcare providers are drowning in paperwork, red tape, and wasteful spending – costs that ultimately hit patients. Administrative roadblocks delay treatment, inflate healthcare costs, and pull providers away from care. The system is so tangled that it now works against the people it was meant to serve.

THE FACTS

Physicians spend 15+ hours per week on paperwork (Medscape)

Administrative costs make up more than 40% of hospitals’ expenses (AHA).

Complex billing forces hospitals to spend billions processing payments (AHA).

BUREAUCRACY IS HURTING NORTH CAROLINIANS

Instead of treating patients, providers are trapped in a cycle of denied claims, excessive paperwork, and complex billing:

  • Insurance companies routinely deny claims, forcing providers to fight to be reimbursed for the care they’ve already provided. Most denied claims – around 70% – are eventually paid (Premier), but not until multiple costly and time-consuming reviews have occurred.

  • 93% of physicians report that prior authorization slows down treatment (AMA), leaving patients waiting for approval before they can get necessary procedures or medications.

  • Doctors and nurses are burned out from spending countless hours navigating administrative hurdles instead of caring for patients.

PATIENTS ARE PAYING THE PRICE

Administrative overhead isn’t just frustrating for physicians. When bureaucracy wins, patients lose – through higher bills, longer waits, and fewer providers.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
IT’S TIME TO HEAL THE SYSTEM.

We need a healthcare system that works for patients, not against them. That starts with stopping financial harm to hospitals and healthcare providers. Cut through the red tape, reduce waste, and ensure providers can focus on their patients by:

  • Streamlining prior authorization requirements.

  • Simplifying billing and claims processes.

  • Increasing transparency and accountability for insurance companies.
